Making construction safer. With that higher goal in mind, Aboma and Wilgh are working together more and more intensively. Since April 1st this year, they have been offering a new, joint product: high-quality first aid and emergency response training, specifically aimed at the construction industry.
“Our collaboration goes back around four years,” says Pieter Visser, General Manager Advice at Aboma. “As a consultancy for safety, quality and health in construction, we were increasingly asked to provide long-term support for projects. Our services are not designed for that. We went looking for a stable partner that fits with our way of working. We found that partner in Wilgh, a secondment agency for security experts.” Walter Willigenburg, founder of Wilgh, adds: “Our corporate cultures are closely related. We both stand for a people-oriented, no-nonsense approach based on high levels of knowledge.”
Willigenburg continues: “We have gotten to know each other well in recent years. We see that we differ in the area of advice and secondment, but that we agree in the provision of training. We can strengthen each other in this.” Visser: “Wilgh's first aid and emergency response courses are a good addition to our training offer for personal development. That is good for our customers. We provide them with a one-stop-shop in training and therefore they do not have to go to different trainers for first aid and/or emergency response trainings. By joining forces Wilgh and Abome create synergy in their customer offering.
The first aid and emergency response training that Aboma offers can be followed at different levels. From basic to team leader and from regular to e-learning. Every training course is fully tailored to the construction sector. Willigenburg: “Our trainers visited together with Aboma various construction sites to properly map out the risks. They connect these insights with the scenarios in their training. This leads to actual customization of the trainings.” Visser emphasizes that this connection with the industry is very important. He gives an example: “Suppose you have to resuscitate a victim with an AED while he is lying on a steel slatted floor of a scaffold. What are you doing then? These kinds of specific situations are not often encountered in regular first aid or emergency response trainings, but they are crucial to know.” Aboma's first aid and emergency response courses meet the standards of NIBHV and the Oranje Kruis. The offer can be viewed on the Aboma website.
