Dealing with Physical Aggression 

You have prepared well: employees have been informed about how to deal with undesirable and aggressive behavior. The subject has been made open for discussion internally and, in addition, the training course ‘Dealing with verbal aggression’ has been followed. Unfortunately, even the best preparations and training courses are not always enough to avoid a physical confrontation. You have to defend yourself and/or get yourself to safety...

What is learnt?

In this one-day course on Dealing with Physical Aggression, you will learn how to protect yourself against physical aggression in the workplace. You will learn some basic techniques for physical self-defense. The difference between humane guidance techniques, self-defense, and martial arts will also be explained. In short: you will learn how to protect yourself against physical aggression.

The program:

Course participants will learn:

  • the background of the various forms of aggression;
  • when they are allowed to defend themselves;
  • the laws and regulations surrounding physical action;
  • the difference between martial arts and self-defense;
  • how to recognize signs of a shift from verbal to physical aggression;
  • how to communicate and set boundaries in physical situations;
  • how to apply humane guidance and control techniques;
  • how to apply personal safety techniques.

Information

Who is it for?

This course is suitable for any employee who has to deal with physical aggression in the workplace, such as physically aggressive behavior from students, clients, customers, guests, or patients. No specific prior training or knowledge is required. Have you taken a course on dealing with verbal aggression? Then you already have some background knowledge.

We provide the course at your location. The maximum group size is 12 people. Participants receive a certificate of participation.

Duration of the training:

The training takes up two half-days.
